It is with deep regret that I inform the Tactical Realism Community that one of the mighty 1stSF/SS founding members, Greg Miller aka "SOF" passed away last March. SOF was a remarkable person, and dedicated his gaming persona to teaching and preaching Tactical Realism. He understood how to play the games, he connected with everyone in a positive way, and was able to make people follow his lead while playing through his love of Realism. SOF was very influential in our success in the early games as the clan begun to grow bigger and bigger. He dedicated his time to training, scrimming, recruiting new blood, and just having fun on the server. He always held the clan values to the highest, and made sure the new recruits and old members followed closely. He was a passionate player, but passionate about real life as well. He worked hard in the restaurant business and later helping a friend run a bar. He has met with a handful of members in the real world and the same things he applied to the clan, he applied in real life. His love for his daughter and family he spoke about on TS many times, and his passion for the guitar which was shared nightly with Wickedneck on TS. He shared bonds with some members that he never met that you would seem like he knew forever. I for one am saddened and will miss him around these games. He has touched a lot of us through these games...

Please if anyone has any memories they would like to share, reply here. There are plenty of people in the TR community that knew him and I hope he effected you all the same as he did us. We will be trying to get in contact somehow with the family to donate to a college trust fund set up for his daughter, if anyone would like to donate to the cause please get in contact with Magoo.

Gregory Joseph Miller Naples, FL

Gregory Joseph Miller, born on January 6, 1969 to Dorothy and Joseph Miller in Arlington, MA, died March 13, 2011.


Brother to Susan and David; father to Zoe Rose; uncle to Madeline Haley and Sadie Joe; and betrothed to Michelle Montonera; and friend to all who encountered him.
Greg was a remarkable man, strong, loyal and dedicated to his family and friends. He worked hard at providing support for us all. Greg had a huge heart and found joy in helping others.
